Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating a class A truck/ 53 foot dry van. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while ensuring timely deliveries. Local work, home every day. looking for someone for Wednesday thru Sunday 530 am to 230 pm, with Monday and Tuesday available also if wanted. Driver will be a dedicated shuttle driver for one customer.
Duties
- Operate commercial trucks, in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
- no touch freight, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and functionality.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes, and deliveries as required by company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transport.
- Adhere to all company policies regarding safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Drive manual transmission vehicles as needed, demonstrating proficiency in handling various truck types.
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or truck driver is preferred. 2 year class a cdl minimum
- Familiarity with operating forklifts for loading and unloading tasks is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and regulations related to commercial driving.
- Ability to navigate routes efficiently while adhering to time constraints.
- A valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is required for this position.
