Atlas Staffing is hiring a Maintenance Technician for a leading building products manufacturer in Spokane Valley, Washington. This temp to hire opportunity offers consistent weekday hours and hands on work with industrial production equipment.
Role Purpose
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment, tools, and machinery. This role diagnoses mechanical and electrical issues, completes preventive maintenance, and helps keep production equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Pay: $28.00 to $33.00 per hour, based on experience
Shift: Monday - Friday, 12:00pm to 8:30pm
Responsibilities
- Replace, install, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair production equipment and electrical components
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine the appropriate repair
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep production machinery operating at an optimal level
- Inspect drives, motors, belts, fluid levels, filters, and related equipment using established maintenance checklists
- Replace faulty parts, electrical wiring, motors, controls, and circuit boards
- Dismantle equipment and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools
- Lubricate and clean parts and equipment to support safe and reliable operation
- Use hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, replace parts, and complete assigned maintenance tasks
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, repair manuals, and parts catalogs
- Operate production machinery as needed to understand equipment capabilities and support troubleshooting
Qualifications
- At least five years of maintenance experience
- High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Technical or vocational school certification preferred
- Ability to read and understand safety procedures, operating instructions, and maintenance documentation
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical systems, and electrical principles
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
- Ability to lift up to 65 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, and climb for extended periods
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in dusty, hot, or cold conditions
- Ability to use fall protection equipment and required personal protective equipment
- Must wear earplugs, a hard hat, protective glasses, and safety boots or shoes as required
- Candidates must provide their own safety boots or shoes upon hire
