STEP Academy is seeking a Full-Time Secondary Science Teacher.
STEP Academy is a K-12 destination charter school located in St. Paul and a K-10 campus in Burnsville, Minnesota that serves a student body primarily made up of first-generation Somali/East African students. STEP Academy ensures all students are nurtured and empowered to use their personal attributes and acquired knowledge to have the choice to participate in early college entrance through the Minnesota PSEO program. The school boasts a leadership team and school board that listen to and support their teachers and staff, believing that you are a person first and an educator second.

The Position:
This position includes teaching middle and early high school science courses in Life Science, Physics, and Earth & Space Science. The ideal candidate will provide engaging, standards-aligned instruction that builds scientific thinking, inquiry, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Science teaching license (Life Science, Physics, Earth & Space Science, or related)
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds
- Experience working with English Language Learners (ELL)
- Cultural competence
Minimum Qualifications:
- Any teaching license and willingness to obtain an out-of-area designation
- Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field or education
- Ability to obtain a Tier 1 or Tier 2 teaching license, with willingness to work toward a higher tier license
