Experienced Finish Carpenter
Location: La Porte, Indiana
Job Type: Part-Time (Approximately 24–30 Hours per Week)
Duration: Approximately One Month, with Opportunity for Future Project Phases
Pay: $25–$32 per hour, based on experience.
We're seeking an experienced Finish Carpenter to assist with a high-end residential renovation in La Porte, Indiana.
Exceptional trim carpentry skills are essential. While trim carpentry is the primary focus of this position, we're looking for a well-rounded finish carpenter with an uncompromising commitment to quality, meticulous attention to detail, and pride in producing exceptional work.
In addition to precision trim carpentry, this position includes the installation of doors and windows, cedar shake siding, caulking, painting, and a variety of other finish carpentry tasks. As the renovation progresses, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in future phases of this ongoing home renovation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Precision trim carpentry around doors and windows
- Install interior and exterior doors
- Install windows
- Install cedar shake siding and exterior trim
- Interior finish carpentry
- Caulking and finish preparation
- Painting and touch-up work
- Miscellaneous residential carpentry projects
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications
- Extensive finish carpentry and trim carpentry experience
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Experience installing doors and windows
- Experience installing cedar shake siding is preferred
- General residential carpentry experience is a plus
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Own hand tools preferred
Ideal Candidate
We're looking for a craftsman who can work independently and confidently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate is able to take clear direction, understand the overall goals of the project, and execute high-quality work without requiring constant oversight.
This position works under the direction of the Project Manager and Crew Leader. The successful candidate will understand project objectives, timelines, quality expectations, and the overall direction of the renovation while taking ownership of their work and contributing positively to the success of the project.

Project Schedule
The initial phase of this renovation is expected to last approximately one month, with part-time hours averaging 24–30 hours per week.
If the relationship is a good fit, there will be opportunities to participate in future phases of this ongoing home renovation. Work will progress in planned stages, with occasional breaks between phases as planning, material procurement, and other aspects of the renovation move forward.
Compensation
$25–$35 per hour, based on experience.
