Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and arranging dental supplies for various procedures including prosthodontics, Cerec same day dentistry, implant dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and periodontics.
- Assist dentist during examinations and treatments by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and ensuring patient comfort throughout procedures.
- Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates to assist with patient assessment.
- Manage dental and medical documentation accurately using electronic health records (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Educate patients on post-treatment care instructions and answer questions about procedures or oral health practices.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and updating medical records in EMR systems.
- Ensure all clinical areas adhere to infection control protocols by sterilizing instruments and maintaining a clean environment.
- Support the dental team with dental coding for billing purposes using dental terminology and coding standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of general dentistry procedures; experience in specialties such as prosthodontics, Cerec same day dentistry, implant dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and periodontics is a plus and is preferred. Will train, however pay will depend on experience.
- Familiarity with dental software applications including Dentrix or Eaglesoft; proficiency with EMR systems is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and medical documentation standards.
- Ability to assess patient needs through vital signs measurement and effective communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and clinical workflows.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training; previous experience working in a dental clinic or dental office environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of infection control practices, sterilization techniques, and safety protocols essential for maintaining a compliant practice environment.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
