Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team within a long-term care facility. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of resident care, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining the highest quality of nursing services. Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for nursing operations across the facility, including assisted living, memory care, and long-term care units.
- Supervise and evaluate nursing staff, including nurse managers and clinical teams, promoting professional development and maintaining high standards of patient care.
- Develop, review, and update comprehensive care plans tailored to individual resident needs, incorporating best practices in physiology and anatomy.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, Medicare regulations, and long-term care facility standards.
- Oversee documentation review processes, including medical records, medical terminology accuracy, and EMR/EHR systems management.
- Lead efforts in regulatory audits, licensing inspections, and quality assurance initiatives to maintain accreditation standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize resident outcomes through effective management of care plans and documentation.
- Manage shift schedules efficiently to ensure adequate staffing levels while maintaining quality patient care.
- Facilitate training sessions on medical records management, HIPAA compliance, and documentation best practices.
- Drive initiatives that improve patient safety, satisfaction, and overall operational efficiency within the facility.
Qualifications
- Proven nursing leadership experience in long-term care facilities or similar healthcare environments.
- Extensive knowledge of assisted living operations, nursing home procedures, home health services, hospice care, and acute care settings.
- Strong familiarity with EMR/EHR systems, medical terminology, and clinical documentation review processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams with supervising experience in a healthcare setting.
- In-depth understanding of long-term care regulations, Medicare requirements, HIPAA compliance, and regulatory standards.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to oversee multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher; current RN licensure is mandatory.
- Management experience in nurse management or nursing administration roles is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of medical physiology and anatomy to support clinical decision-making.
- Strong communication skills essential for effective leadership and team collaboration.
