Orlando School of Music is seeking a passionate and creative music therapist to join our growing team! We are expanding our new Adaptive Music Program and are looking for someone who loves helping individuals of all abilities discover confidence, creativity, and joy through music.
This is an excellent opportunity for a music therapist looking for a flexible contract position with the freedom to build a schedule around their own availability.
What You'll Do
- Provide individualized adaptive music lessons for children, teens, and adults with a variety of abilities and support needs.
- Lead small adaptive music groups that promote social skills, communication, self-expression, and musical growth.
- Collaborate with families and our administrative team to create positive, individualized experiences for each student.
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
Qualifications
- Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) preferred.
- Candidates who have successfully completed their music therapy internship and are transitioning toward board certification are encouraged to apply. Applicants must obtain their MT-BC certification within one year of hire.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music Therapy from an accredited program.
- Experience working with individuals with autism, ADHD, developmental disabilities, or other exceptionalities is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, professional, and enthusiastic about making music accessible to everyone.
