American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Med/Surg position in Urbana, IL, requiring Epic EMR experience and a minimum of one year of nursing experience.

Cardiovascular Med/Surg unit (CT6B - Cardio) within a hospital setting
-
Patient population includes post-op day one CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients
-
Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
-
Approximately 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
-
Holiday coverage required on a departmental rotation basis
-
No floating requirements
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)

Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)

Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience

Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred

Epic EMR experience required

Level 1 Trauma experience required

Skills in vascular surgery care, thoracotomy care, CABG care, and post-operative care

Provides direct care to cardiovascular med/surg patients, including post-operative CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery cases

Responsibilities include completing initial patient assessments, developing and modifying care plans, implementing nursing interventions, and performing hourly rounding

Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care to support the healthcare team

Supports patient and staff safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting hazards and incidents
-
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted

Travelers who have been on assignment with this health system for 1 year must take a 6-month break in service before returning to any location within the system
-
RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
