Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Backflow Test & Service Technician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for testing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining backflow prevention devices to ensure the safety and integrity of water systems. Your expertise will help protect public health by ensuring compliance with local and state regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on construction sites and commercial properties, utilizing a wide range of technical skills to deliver exceptional service.
Duties
- Perform backflow prevention device testing according to industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair backflow assemblies using hand tools, power tools, and specialized testing equipment
- Install new backflow prevention devices on commercial and residential plumbing, domestic, irrigation and fire sprinkler systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to plumbing and mechanical systems
- Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and system upgrades on backflow devices and associated plumbing components
- Maintain detailed records of tests, repairs, and inspections in compliance with local regulations
- Assist with construction plumbing projects, including pipe threading, assembly, remodeling, and site setup
Requirements
- BPAT license & Proven experience in domestic, irrigation and fire sprinkler or related trades with a focus on backflow prevention is highly preferred
- Knowledge of construction site safety protocols and ability to work in various environments
- Skilled in pipe threading, schematics reading, and mechanical troubleshooting
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, heavy lifting equipment, and other construction machinery safely
- Strong understanding of plumbing systems, schematics interpretation, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Valid driver’s license with commercial driving experience preferred for travel between job sites
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with handyman experience or general remodeling knowledge is a plus
