Duties
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments, arranging supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly for scheduled surgeries.
- Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies during procedures with accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques to prevent infection and uphold infection control standards throughout all surgical activities.
- Monitor and record vital signs, patient physiology data, and other critical information during surgeries using hospital electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic.
- Support patient care by ensuring proper positioning, comfort, and safety before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesia, nursing, and medical staff to facilitate smooth surgical workflows in emergency medicine, trauma centers (Level I & II), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and other specialized units.
- Assist with data collection related to surgical procedures for quality improvement initiatives and analysis purposes.
Experience
- Experience in procedure room or in a similar role within an operating room environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in OR procedures, instrumentation, suturing techniques, and anatomy knowledge relevant to various surgical specialties.
- Experience working in Level I or Level II trauma centers, emergency medicine settings, or ambulatory surgery centers is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and infection control protocols essential for safe surgical practices.
- Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or other EHR platforms used for documentation of medical records and patient data.

Pay: $26.00 - $35.00 per hour
