Point Quest Group is seeking a dedicated and student-focused Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support a welcoming school district in Devine, Texas, just outside San Antonio. - Schedule: Monday–Friday, aligned with school hours
- Weekly Hours: 35–37 hours per week
- Setting: School-based (K–12 population)
- Caseload: Varies; designed to be manageable and compliant
This role supports the supervising Occupational Therapist and includes a mix of direct student services, documentation, and collaboration with school staff.
Treatment Implementation:
Deliver occupational therapy services to students based on treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
Student Support & Skill Development:
Assist students in improving fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care skills, and classroom participation.
Collaboration & Consultation:
Work closely with OTs, teachers, and school staff to support student progress and carryover of therapeutic strategies in the classroom.
Data Collection & Documentation:
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions, student progress, and goal tracking in compliance with district and regulatory requirements.
Materials & Equipment Support:
Assist in preparing therapy materials, adapting activities, and utilizing sensory and adaptive equipment to meet student needs.
- Active Texas COTA license (required)
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow treatment plans and work under OT supervision
- Ability to pass background and fingerprint clearance
- TB clearance (as required)
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to work in a school environment with moderate noise levels
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the day
- Ability to assist students with mobility and positioning as needed
- Occasional lifting of materials or equipment (up to 50 lbs, with or without accommodations)
- Exposure to typical school environmental conditions (dust, pollen, etc.)
