American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Post Partum position requiring a CA RN license and prior travel nursing experience.

Work in the Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum unit of a hospital setting
-
13-week assignment on night shift, 5x8 hour shifts from 23:00 to 07:30
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
May float to Labor & Delivery to serve as baby nurse

Patient ratio of 1:4 couplets
-
Epic charting system experience required
-
Active CA RN license required
-
Current BLS and NRP certifications required
-
Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
-
Prior travel nursing experience required
-
Preferred prior charge nurse experience
-
Skilled in newborn and postpartum care including couplet care, fundus/lochia/perineum care, breastfeeding instruction, and discharge teaching
-
Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line maintenance
-
Experience managing patients with cesarean section, postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension, and multiple births

Two professional references (supervisor) obtained within the past year required for consideration

Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and continual reassessment

Serve as a patient advocate while coordinating care and promoting safety and clinical quality

Perform newborn assessments, phototherapy, and care for infants with hypoglycemia or low birth weight
-
Support pain management including epidural and PCA use
-
Local candidates accepted at local rate

Must reside within a 50-mile radius for consideration at travel rate

Returning employees must have a minimum 1-year separation before reapplying as a traveler

Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract

Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
