About the Position
The Field Technician II is a key member of our installation team, responsible for independently performing standard audiovisual installation tasks while supporting more complex projects with limited supervision.
This role is ideal for a technician who has developed a solid foundation in commercial AV installation and is ready to take the next step in their career. You'll work with a variety of AV technologies, installation environments, and project teams while continuing to build your technical expertise. Success in this role comes from attention to detail, strong workmanship, reliability, and a commitment to delivering quality installations the first time.
What You Will Do
Job Responsibilities
- Install displays, projectors, screens, speakers, microphones, cameras, and related AV equipment according to project drawings and specifications.
- Perform device mounting using appropriate hardware, anchors, and fastening methods.
- Pull, route, support, dress, and organize copper and fiber cabling in accordance with industry and company standards.
- Complete cable terminations including crimp, punch-down, captive screw, and basic fiber terminations.
- Label cables, devices, and terminations accurately according to project requirements.
- Assist with rack fabrication, equipment mounting, power distribution, and signal-flow organization.
- Read and interpret installation drawings, cable schedules, and technical documentation.
- Identify and communicate discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions.
- Coordinate effectively with project leadership, fellow technicians, clients, and other trades on the jobsite.
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company standards.
- Perform quality checks to ensure work is completed accurately and professionally.
- Provide progress updates and assist with project documentation, reporting, and photo records.
What We're Looking For
Education and Certifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- OSHA 10 Certification.
Preferred:
- AVIXA CTS certification or willingness to obtain with company support.
Experience
Required:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial AV installation.
Preferred:
- Experience with structured cabling installations.
- Experience mounting displays, speakers, cameras, and related AV devices.
- Experience working from installation drawings and technical documentation.

Physical Requirements
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate company vehicles.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and up to 75 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and in a variety of commercial construction environments.
- Ability to safely utilize hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to work overtime as project needs require.
