Blurton Banks & Associates was founded in 1974 and is involved in Heavy Construction activities such as Road Building, Drainage pipe/structures, Water/Sewer, and Concrete work. We are currently looking to add more members to our team.
Summary
Seeking an experienced Underground Utility Foreman to lead and manage a crew on various construction projects. We are looking for someone with a solid background in water, sewer and storm drain construction, with the ability to operate heavy equipment and oversee the successful completion of projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage, supervise and coordinate with onsite work crews.
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure proper project execution.
- Ensure job equipment and tools are maintained in good working order and are safe for use.
- Communicate with onsite subcontractors, general contractors and/or owners.
- Operate a variety of heavy machinery, including excavators and bulldozers to assist in construction tasks.
- Ensure that proper safety procedures are followed.
- Maintain a clean job site: ensure all tools and equipment are picked up and job site is secure each day.
- Oversee project completion
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience as a Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role within the construction industry.
- Must have knowledge of Underground Utility(Water, Sewer and Storm drain) Systems
- Knowledge of and experience reading, understanding, and implementing construction plans.
- Good mathematical skills
- Competent with the use of a laser and transit.
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in heavy construction work.
- Must be adaptable and able to work in a variety of conditions.
- Knowledge of applicable safety precautions.
- Strong problem solving abilities
