Job Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing hyperscale data center construction projects safely and with a high degree of efficiency, ensuring it meets customer expectations. This role is the on-site leader aligning project scope, staffing requirements, QA/QC standards, schedules, milestones, and client expectations. The Project Manager is the liaison between field leadership, engineering, subcontractors, customers, and all related partners; leading clear communications and proactively leading the achievement of deadlines and project margins.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary site contact for the GC, customer, and other key partners.
- Lead the daily construction activities for critical hyperscale data center projects, maintaining a visible presence, credibility, and displaying awareness of progress and obstacles. Maintain accurate progress tracking.
- Coordinate appropriate staffing levels and material needs to meet schedule and installation requirements.
- In collaboration with site staff, GC, leadership, and other client partners, lead daily coordination meetings to drive clarity for the scope of work, address progress, and proactively identify and solve any project risks. Provide weekly lookahead schedules.
- Oversight in adherence to project drawings, specifications, and Division 27/28 standards, collaborating with shared services on all post-award items. Review submittals and RFIs.
- In partnership with local site leaders, ensure appropriate staff levels are aligned with the project phasing, forecasting, and adjusting appropriately to reduce downtime of staff or project delays.
- Oversee change order management, field testing, documentation, and close-out for all deliverables including deviations and redline updates while validating with regional operations management and/or shared services.
- Validate all test results are captured, reviewed, labeled, and uploaded as directed by the documentation control requirements.
- Partners with the Safety team and site leadership to ensure safety protocols are enforced, including toolbox talks, incident reviews, and site audits.
- Leads and verifies that the job site compliance and documentation requirements are met.
- Coach and mentor Foreman, Field Engineers, and field staff for technical execution and project goals; support consistent staff skill evaluations and career development initiatives. Address staff performance or attendance issues in a timely manner.
- Partner with QA/QC and site leadership for inspections, punch list closure, and readiness for MVP turnover.
- Monitor material requisitions and just-in-time delivery with the procurement team.
- Oversight of equipment and other materials, and report deficiencies as needed.
- Make recommendations based on applicable codes, standards, and best practices.
- Some travel and/or transportation may be required to and from work sites.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated success managing large-scale hyperscale or mission critical construction projects.
- Strong working knowledge of structured cabling, OSP/ISP, and low-voltage systems.
- Working knowledge of Division 27/28 systems, commissioning workflows, and QA/QC documentation.
- OSHA 30 and First Aid Certified, preferred.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Demonstrated knowledge of fiber/copper cabling, testing, and commissioning practices, including solid understanding of industry-standard color codes and terminations.
- Able to project required staffing levels and materials up to 6 weeks out per construction schedules.
- Demonstrated communication skills to lead a large team of operational staff and communicate with all project staff, including customers and internal management staff.
- Proficiency in Smartsheet, Procure, Bluebeam, Power BI, and project management systems.
- Ability to positively influence and motivate teams to align with project goals.
- Intermediate computer skills to implement data on internal applications (Office 365: Excel, Microsoft Office, System Software, etc.) including smartphone/tablet functions, and Smartsheet knowledge.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
- 6 - 10 years’ direct experience in large-scale projects within the data center or critical infrastructure construction industry.
- 3 -5 years in project management, site leadership, or supervisory capacity.
- RTPM, PMP, or BICSI Technician certification required; RCDD preferred.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
