Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Tutor to provide personalized academic support to students in various subjects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and the ability to foster a positive learning environment. This role involves working closely with students to enhance their understanding of complex concepts, improve their study skills, and build their confidence in their academic abilities.
Mandatory Requirement: Strong High school level Math subject knowledge - with 1-2 years of tutoring experience. Recent or fresh graduates from California are preferred.
Duties
- Assess individual student needs and tailor tutoring sessions accordingly based on our learning management system.
- Provide instruction in subjects such as Math, Algebra, Discrete Math, AP Stat, AP Honors Math, Trigonometry, CalculusAB, CalculusBC, Precalc.
- Assist students in developing effective study habits and classroom management skills.
- Utilize various teaching methods and resources to engage students and facilitate learning.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to help them achieve academic goals.
- Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills through practical exercises.
- Maintain a supportive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes student success.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of Common Core Math concepts, including Algebra and AP Math programs tailored to High School students.
- Excellent classroom management abilities to maintain focus during sessions.
- Experience working with students of varying ages and skill levels.
- Ability to calculate solutions effectively and explain them clearly to students.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex ideas simply.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed academically.
