Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized DME Manager to join our sleep medicine practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) department, ensuring efficient patient care and operational workflows. This position will oversee staff, maintain compliance with industry standards, manage inventory and equipment, and collaborate with various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
DME Operations:
-Oversee the daily operations of the DME
department, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of equipment to patients.
- Coordinate with DME Techs to ensure proper
equipment selection for patient care.
- Oversees the management of inventory, order
supplies, and maintain an organized, cost-efficient system for equipment
distribution.
- Train and supervise DME staff on equipment
setup, patient interaction, and troubleshooting.
- Resolve patient issues regarding equipment and
ensure prompt solutions.
- Stay updated on industry changes related to DME
equipment and insurance guidelines.
General Management:
- Develop and manage budgets for DME.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide
ongoing training for staff members to enhance skill sets and improve service
quality.
- Monitor and evaluate departmental performance
metrics, implementing improvement strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with the administrative team to
improve patient flow, ensure proper documentation, and enhance operational
efficiency.
- Serve as the main point of contact for patients
concerns related to Sleep Studies/ DME Equipment.
- Ensure a high standard of patient care through
continuous monitoring and staff education.
- Submission of payroll via Paylocity.
Qualifications:
- Experience in Management
(Required)
- Knowledge of sleep disorders, diagnostic procedures, and DME equipment & clinical experience is essential.
(Preferred)
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and industry standards (e.g., HIPAA,
AASM, CMS).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience with EMR software, eCW. (Preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be willing to travel
Ideal Experience:
- 1-2 years of work as a respiratory therapist
or
- Extensive general medical knowledge/experience
Example: International Med grad, or nursing/MA
