JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Architectural Planner to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in architectural planning, predesign efforts (programming, space standards, site planning, conceptual design, etc.) and project management, with a keen understanding of economic development, benchmarking, demographic impacts related to our project types, zoning requirements, grants, funding mechanisms, and other related efforts. This role involves leading planning projects, and the launching of full design projects, collaborating with leadership and various stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations while delivering innovative solutions.
POSITION SUMMARY + RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage planning projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with community goals and regulations.
- Collaboratively engage in preliminary design solutions.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis on environmental impacts, zoning regulations, and economic development trends to inform planning decisions.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to develop comprehensive project plans using tools such as Sketchup, Microsoft Suite, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam/Adobe Acrobat, Auto CAD /Revit.
- Draft reports, presentations, and proposals, for government agencies, private clients, and community organizations.
- Facilitate public meetings and program/design workshops.
- Support and lead space standard management.
- Develop space programs while quantifying owner’s / client’s needs.
- Support owner in validating project needs and budget requests.
- Develop project schedules and manage timelines to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to meet objectives while maintaining quality standards.
- Strong drafting skills for creating detailed plans and reports.
- Knowledge of environmental law and regulations affecting land use and development.
- Support, establish and advance program and space standards within the company.
- Minimum of 5 years of architectural planning experience.

EDUCATION
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree; Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field; (geography, architecture, or engineering)
