The Line Cook role is a vital part of the Standard Fare team, contributing to the culinary team via proficient cooking & knife skills, being a team player, maintaining a clean & safe work environment and completing all tasks assigned by the culinary management. This role represents the Standard Fare brand and as such, be well groomed, detail oriented, friendly, respectful, and most importantly, passionate about fine food and beverage.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service during peak hours.
- Ability to cross-train on all stations in the kitchen proficiently.
- Produce prep items for the menu(s) & station(s) while adhering to given recipes based on established par levels.
- Fill out station mis en place sheet(s) for prep & inventory purposes.
- Maintain impeccable health department guideline SOPs of stations, food spaces, following said guidelines and/or checklist provided by the Executive Chef.
- Perform closing duties at the end of service, as well as checklist(s) provided by the Executive Chef, (temperature logs, inventory, etc.).
- Support for other chefs as directed or asked of to maintain a culture of positivity & teamwork.
- Assists with cleaning & maintenance tasks as directed within allocated shift.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience
- Strong skillsets: Attention to detail, organization, communication, reliability, respect & a positive mindset.
- General understanding of flavor profiles, food ingredients, food allergens, sensitivities & contamination prevention.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time & lift up to 50 lbs.
- ServSafe Certification OR Food Handlers' Certification.
