We are looking for an experienced, dependable, and patient-focused Infusion Nurse or Medical Assistant to join our expanding infusion team.
Position Summary
The Infusion Nurse or Medical Assistant plays a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality infusion therapy while creating an exceptional experience for our patients. This individual will work closely with our providers to ensure treatments are administered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with clinical protocols.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and administer infusion medications according to physician orders and established protocols (within scope of practice)
- Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after infusion treatments
- Recognize and respond appropriately to adverse reactions or medical emergencies
- Educate patients regarding infusion therapy, medications, potential side effects, and follow-up care
- Start and maintain peripheral IV access
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records
- Prepare infusion medications and treatment areas following infection control and safety standards
- Monitor inventory and assist with ordering infusion supplies
- Collaborate with physicians and the clinical team to coordinate patient care
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming infusion suite
- Provide compassionate, professional customer service to every patient
- Obtain prior authorization for medications.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse (RN/LPN) Candidates:
- Current Nevada nursing license in good standing
- Experience administering IV infusions preferred
- Current BLS certification
- Strong IV insertion and patient assessment skills
Medical Assistant Candidates:
- Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Previous infusion, IV therapy, oncology, rheumatology, allergy, or specialty clinic experience strongly preferred
- Prior authorization experience
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to work within Nevada scope of practice
