Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Steel Detailing Manager to help assist our detailing team and manage BIM coordination for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects. This role will oversee outside detailers, coordinate with General Contractors, and ensure accurate, timely shop drawings and submittals.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the steel detailing team
- Review and approve shop drawings and submittals
- Manage BIM coordination (Tekla / Trimble / Navisworks)
- Coordinate directly with General Contractors, architects, and engineers
- Ensure drawings comply with AISC, AWS, and project specifications
- Track revisions, RFIs, and change orders
- Support project managers from detailing through fabrication
- Maintain drawing schedules and meet project deadlines
Experience
- Experience with miscellaneous metals (rails, stairs, gates, etc.)
- Experience coordinating with fabricators and field teams
- Tekla PowerFab experience is a plus
