Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Voice/Piano Teacher to join our educational team. THIS POSITION REQUIRES DAYTIME WORKING HOURS FROM 10AM-3PM!
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education (Bachelors in Music Education or Music Perfomance or relative field of study) and a love for teaching children. This role involves creating engaging one-on-one lessons, fostering a positive learning environment, and building relationships with students and their families. The voice/piano teacher will work with students of varying ages and skill levels, integrating music theory, performance, technique, and creativity into a private lesson setting
Responsibilities
- Teach individualized lessons that cater to different learning styles and abilities.
- Teach various aspects of music including basic theory, instrument proficiency, techniques, and performance skills.
- Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and creativity.
- Be a part of studio music performances, recitals, or showcases to highlight student progress.
- Collaborate with other music educators to enhance classes and lessons at the studio.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to promote growth.
- Maintain an organized space conducive to learning and creativity.
Experience
- A Bachelors in Music Education, performance, or in field of study.
- Proven experience in teaching music or related fields is preferred.
- Experience working with children in various capacities.
- Skills in lesson planning are essential to effectively convey musical concepts.
- Knowledge of Kodaly and Dalcroze can enhance the integration of movement into musical education is a plus.
- Familiarity with teaching multiple different instruments such as piano, ukulele, guitar, and concert band instruments.
