Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Drywall Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive bids for commercial drywall projects. The role focuses on performing takeoffs, developing cost estimates, coordinating with project teams and subcontractors, and maintaining estimating databases. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge of drywall systems with experience using EDGE and Procore to deliver timely, high-quality estimates and support successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities

Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and prepare comprehensive cost estimates for commercial drywall projects, including metal framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, and finishes.

Review architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and subcontractor/supplier proposals to develop scope and pricing assumptions.

Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor quotes, overhead, and contingency.

Use estimating software (EDGE preferred) and Procore for bid management, document control, and tracking proposals throughout the lifecycle.

Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers to clarify scope, obtain pricing, and resolve discrepancies.

Evaluate change orders, prepare cost impact analyses, and support negotiations during preconstruction and construction phases.

Maintain and update cost databases, historical pricing, and unit rates; perform value engineering to identify cost savings and constructability improvements.

Conduct site visits as needed to verify conditions, take field measurements, and support pre-bid coordination meetings.
Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of commercial drywall estimating experience; experience estimating large or complex commercial projects strongly preferred.

Proven proficiency with EDGE estimating software and experience using Procore or similar construction management platforms.

Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and standards.

Demonstrated knowledge of drywall assemblies, metal stud framing, acoustical ceilings, insulation, and finishing systems.

Excellent numerical, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills with the ability to produce accurate, timely estimates under deadline pressure.

Effective communication and negotiation skills; able to build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Experience preparing bid proposals, change order documentation, and cost breakdowns; familiarity with labor/manning studies and productivity rates.

Proactive, organized, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a project team; valid driver's license and ability to visit project sites.
