Role summary:
This role serves as the Energy Asset Management lead for Walmart's comprehensive energy portfolio - spanning onsite distributed generation, offsite power purchase agreements, and EV charging infrastructure. You will partner closely with Energy Development teams, Realty, Global Tech Partners, Finance, Legal, and other cross-functional stakeholders to manage contracts, monitor performance, optimize value, and ensure operational excellence across the enterprise energy portfolio. Reporting through Walmart Energy Operations, this role is responsible for maximizing the performance, value, and resilience of Walmart's enterprise energy portfolio through disciplined asset management, market optimization, and operational excellence.

The Walmart Energy team develops and manages one of the nation's largest commercial energy portfolios across stores, clubs, and supply chain facilities. We optimize energy costs, expand renewable energy investments, and strengthen operational resilience through market strategy, advanced analytics, and innovative energy technologies. Working across Finance, Realty, Global Tech, Legal, and Operations, we build scalable energy solutions that deliver long-term enterprise value.
What you'll do:
- Lead Walmart's enterprise energy portfolio, including onsite and offsite energy assets, retail energy operations, and market-based procurement

Optimize energy costs through portfolio management, forecasting, and risk management strategies

Establish scalable asset management processes that maximize performance, reliability, and lifecycle value

Oversee utility billing to ensure accuracy, cost recovery, and continuous improvement

Leverage data, analytics, AI, and automation to enhance operational visibility and decision-making

Build high-performing partnerships with utilities, suppliers, EPCs, O&M providers, and technology teams to drive operational excellence
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in energy portfolio management, asset operations, ideally across onsite generation, storage, microgrids, EV charging, retail/utility markets

Strong analytical & financial skills with the ability to assess performance, evaluate economics, and drive data-informed decisions

Expertise managing complex vendor and partner ecosystems, with a track record of improving reliability, cost, and performance

Technical fluency in energy monitoring, billing workflows, power market fundamentals

Ability to design scalable processes and operational frameworks for a fast-growing, multi-technology asset base

Exceptional communication and cross-functional leadership, with experience influencing stakeholders across operations, tech, finance, external partners

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field and 5 years’ experience in utility operations or related area OR 7 years’ experience in utility operations or related area.
1 year’s supervisory experience.
