Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks to transport materials across designated routes.
- Load and unload efficiently and safely.
- Follow directions to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation), and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load securement.
- Maintain accurate records of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in compliance with company and DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with superintendent and foreman regarding route changes, delivery schedules, or any issues encountered during transit.
- Ensuring proper handling and placement of loads at job sites operations,.
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including dump truck operations and handling of construction materials.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for manual transmission operation preferred.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, and safety standards for transporting construction materials.
- Ability to safely and efficiently load & unload materials.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols for dump truck operation.
