We are a rapidly growing cannabis retail company based in San Diego operating multiple licensed dispensaries with significant expansion plans throughout California. Our leadership team is focused on scaling revenue, optimizing profitability, and building a best-in-class retail platform.
We are seeking a full-time, in-house Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with a CPA license and deep experience in accounting, tax strategy, and financial operations to lead the company’s financial strategy and infrastructure.
Position Overview
The CFO will oversee all financial operations including accounting, tax planning, compliance, capital strategy, and financial reporting. This executive will work directly with ownership and senior leadership to support expansion, acquisitions, and operational excellence.
Cannabis industry experience and knowledge of IRS 280E is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting, finance, and treasury functions• Manage financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting• Ensure compliance with state cannabis regulations and IRS 280E• Oversee tax strategy and coordinate with external CPA firms• Develop financial reporting for ownership and investors• Manage banking relationships and cash controls• Support financing, acquisitions, and new store development• Implement systems and financial controls as the company scales• Oversee internal accounting team and external consultants
Qualifications
- Active CPA license required• 10+ years finance/accounting leadership experience• Experience as CFO, VP Finance, or Controller• Retail, multi-location, or cannabis industry experience preferred• Strong knowledge of tax strategy, 280E, and regulatory compliance• Experience managing growth companies and scaling operations• Excellent leadership and communication skills
Compensation
- Base Salary: $220,000 – $300,000• Performance Bonus:
-Equity or profit participation possible
