Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Assist licensed speech-language pathologists in implementing individualized treatment plans for patients across different settings
- Support therapy sessions focused on speech therapy, language development, and communication skills for children and adolescents
- Help conduct assessments and document progress under supervision, ensuring accurate record-keeping aligned with IEP (Individualized Education Program) requirements
- Work closely with students, teachers, and families to facilitate early intervention strategies and promote effective communication
- Prepare therapy materials and assist in creating engaging activities that foster speech and language development
- Monitor patient responses during sessions, providing feedback to the supervising clinician for ongoing treatment adjustments
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment that encourages patient participation and confidence
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children or students in educational or clinical settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of pediatrics, physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to speech therapy practices
- Familiarity with acute care environments or school-based programs is a plus
- Strong understanding of early intervention techniques and IEP processes for student support plans
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and patients
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to clinical protocols with precision
- Certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLP-A) or equivalent is required where applicable
