Embedded Software Engineer
Job Description

Description:Design, implement, and maintain software and configuration for Embedded real-time and Linux systems and supporting infrastructure, focused on small Unmanned Systems (sUxS). Candidate will take initiative and develop solutions to support sUxS operations and payloads with a sense of product ownership and focus on robustness, ease-of-use, and clarity. This candidate will also be comfortable demonstrating flexibility and resourcefulness while working alongside a small and cross-functional team of senior engineers. The job will be a hybrid work position based in our new office in Denver (Northglenn), CO.
Job Role(s):

Develop bandwidth management, network configuration, and application software to run on sUxS companion computers.

Configure and optimize embedded Linux platforms for resilience, security, and frictionless operations.

Validate, test, and document new or existing code running in test or on physical hardware.

Support integration of software applications and hardware payloads into common platform.

Occasionally support flight operations and end-to-end tests.
Required Experience:

Engineering or Computer Science degree.

Four years of professional software development experience or equivalent embedded software experience.

Broad experience with and understanding of embedded Linux systems below applications layer or at minimum, strong embedded systems and computer engineering understanding.

Knowledge of professional software development practices such as version control, maintainable code, task planning, testing and validation, and user experience.
Desired Experience:
-
Experience designing, building, and flying sUxS systems.

Experience or understanding of PX4 or Ardupilot software.

Knowledge of networking and distributed systems.

Experience with ROS, ROS2 or other middleware approaches.

Knowledge of core Electrical Engineering and RF Engineering concepts.

Knowledge of embedded Linux security configuration and best practices.
