Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Activity Specialist to enrich our programs with engaging, appropriate activities for seniors. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for working with seniors, demonstrating creativity, patience, and strong organizational skills. As an Activity Specialist, you will design, implement, and supervise a variety of recreational, educational, physical and social activities that promote lifetime learning, enrichment and fun in a safe environment. Responsibilities
- Plan and facilitate diverse activities including arts and crafts, active games, and educational games tailored to different groups and abilities.
- Manage community space effectively, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all participants.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote respectful interactions and positive social skills among residents.
- Respond promptly to any safety concerns or emergencies in accordance with established protocols.
- Collaborate with staff, residents and families to integrate activities that support individual needs and interests.
- Maintain organized activity materials and supplies while adhering to safety standards and sanitation guidelines.
- Foster a supportive atmosphere that enriches our residents' lives .
Skills:
- Strong organizational and management abilities with experience working with seniors.
- Experience in healthcare or working with seniors with diverse needs is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in activities related to arts, music and recreation.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with residents, families, and team members.
