Responsibilities
- Safely operate various types of vehicles, including commercial trucks and automobiles, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safe lifting practices
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, ensuring timely arrivals at each destination
- Load and unload merchandise with proper lifting techniques to prevent injury and damage
- Communicate clearly with clients upon delivery, addressing any questions or concerns professionally
- Upsell additional products or services when appropriate, enhancing customer satisfaction and sales opportunities
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and inventory records
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record suitable for commercial driving or automobile transportation roles
- Prior experience in commercial truck driving or retail store delivery preferred
- Strong math skills for pricing calculations, route planning, and inventory management
- Excellent communication skills to build rapport with clients and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting practices
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, traffic laws, and safety procedures necessary for route driving and commercial driving roles
- Proven organizational skills to manage schedules, deliveries, and documentation efficiently
- Experience in merchandising or client relationship building is a plus
