The Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas is the Catholic Church in Northeast Kansas: Growing as Disciples of Jesus; Making Disciples for Jesus. The Human Resources department serves the people who serve the people of God by supporting more than 100 parishes, schools, cemeteries, and other entities with tools, information and guidance related to employment matters. The HR Generalist will serve as subject matter expert and directly assist parishes supported by our Shared Business Services model. The position is full-time based on 40 hours per week, with a flexible schedule. This position is predominately onsite in the Chancery office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directly serve parishes supported by Shared Business Services as the HR representative.
- Perform HR functions and provide guidance and expertise to pastors and leaders on core HR competencies, policies and procedures, payroll and benefits, recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, and leave management.
- Facilitate full-cycle recruitment; coordinate new hire onboarding and offboarding.
- Process and maintain employee records ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Work directly with the Offices of Accounting and HR who also serve parishes supported by the Shared Business Services model.
- Partner with Curia leadership in efforts to strengthen the Mission of the Archdiocese.

Qualifications:
- Minimum five year’s work experience in human resources required; experience in the non-profit sector or a religious organization is highly preferred.
- Basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Undergraduate degree in human resources, business, or closely related field preferred.
- Practicing Catholic in good standing is preferred and very helpful.
