We're Looking for a Builder, Not Just a Machine Operator.
We're looking for someone who enjoys taking a product from raw material to a beautifully finished, packaged product. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, takes ownership of their work, and is always looking for ways to improve quality and efficiency.
This is a production-driven position with clear daily and weekly production goals. Success in this role means consistently producing high-quality products while meeting established production expectations. We're looking for someone who thrives in an environment where craftsmanship, efficiency, and accountability are equally important.
You will be responsible for producing our premium wood products from start to finish—including CNC machining, laser engraving, sanding, staining, finishing, assembly, quality inspection, and packaging. Every product that leaves our shop represents the Peekaboo Pillow brand, and we expect every team member to take pride in producing exceptional work.

Peekaboo Pillow is a family-owned baby products company based in Olathe, Kansas. We design and manufacture premium products that are sold directly to families across the United States.
As we continue to grow, we're expanding our wood product line and building a small team focused on craftsmanship, efficiency, and quality. We're looking for someone who wants to help build something special and take ownership of their work every day.
Responsibilities
- Operate our Shapeoko CNC router to manufacture wood products
- Operate our WeCreat laser engraver for engraving and cutting
- Set up and monitor CNC and laser production jobs
- Sand, stain, seal, and finish wood products
- Assemble finished products
- Perform quality inspections throughout the production process
- Package finished products for shipment
- Maintain inventory of materials and supplies
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
- Identify opportunities to improve production processes and efficiency
Performance Expectations
- Meet or exceed established daily and weekly production goals while maintaining exceptional quality
- Take ownership of products from raw material through final packaging
- Work efficiently while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship
- Minimize material waste and maximize productivity
- Consistently produce products that meet Peekaboo Pillow quality standards
- Communicate production or equipment issues promptly to management
Qualifications
- Experience operating CNC routers
- Experience operating laser engraving equipment
- Experience sanding, staining, and finishing wood products
- Strong woodworking skills
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
- Dependable with excellent attendance
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Preferred Experience
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
- Shapeoko CNC routers
- Carbide Create or similar CAD/CAM software
- WeCreat, Glowforge, Thunder Laser, Epilog, or similar laser systems
- Wood finishing and staining techniques
- Product assembly
- Small-batch manufacturing
- Packaging and shipping
