Job Overview
Teach one on one private lessons in the comfort of the student’s home, your home, or online. We find the students, handle the billing, and offer continued support so that you can focus on doing what you do best, which is delivering lessons of the highest quality.
Mission For Students
- Getting on the path to playing the right way (proper technique, correct notes, a full sound, accurate rhythms, articulation, holding notes for their full duration, shaping lines, etc.)
- Music theory, counting systems, and how to read standard notation
- Understanding of the function of every note (adding tension, resolving a phrase, playing a color, making a melodic statement, etc.)
- Musicianship skills (musical terms/lingo, how to interact with other musicians on the bandstand, how to count off a song, knowing when to come in, etc.)
- Aural comprehension, sight reading, transcription, improvisation, arranging, and composition
Instructor Responsibilities
- Teach all styles and levels as well as work with students of all ages and backgrounds
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to the students’ needs
- Be willing to travel to students’ homes
- Open to continued professional development
What We’re Looking For
- Exceptionally skilled on your instrument
- Very organized, timely, reliable, and strong communication skills
- 2+ years of teaching experience
- Professional performing experience
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $50.00 per hour
