Academy Program Manager-Middle School

General Description: The Academy Program Manager supports the Mission and Values of Hope Ignites in carrying out their responsibility for the overall operation of the Academy Programs for scholars, including school year and summer programs. Major tasks include program management, recruiting and public relations, selection of and monitoring of scholars, and administrative tasks related to smooth program operation. The Academy Program Manager oversees volunteers assigned to and provides direct service to scholars in the non-residential Academy Program. The Academy Program Manager reports to the Program Director. Academy Manager should be bilingual fluent in Spanish and English.
Major Responsibilities Program Management. Work with Program Director to develop annual goals for the Academy Program. Monitor and report on program performance, including soliciting input from staff about programming, effectiveness, desirable enhancements, and other factors deemed relevant. Assist Program Director in identifying and implementing programming to meet the evolving needs of students as they transition from middle school to high school, supporting attainment of the Hope Ignites scholar success strategies. Assist with planning and implementation of the Summer Program and activities. Assist with the recruitment, selection and training of college interns and other volunteers for the summer program when necessary. Serve as a key liaison to the School Tuition Organization (STO) partners and help lead the process for all scholars and families. Identify and secure resources needed for enrichment programs. Recruiting/Public Relations Participate in new scholar recruitment as directed by Program Director and Director of family and community relations Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with pertinent school personnel. Assist, as required, in outreach activities to promote and secure resources for Hope Ignites. Be a model representative of Hope Ignites and all interactions with scholars, parents, schools, mentors, community members, donors, volunteers, and board members.
Direct Services to Scholars Planning, delivering and evaluating programming for Academy Scholars, resulting in the enhancement of each scholar’s academic, emotional, social, spiritual, and physical development. Including, but not limited to their – Academic achievement (identifying each scholar’s specific learning style and tailoring programming, enrichment, and interventions as necessary) Emotional stability and growth Cultural identity and sensitivity toward diversity Spiritual growth, with sensitivity for each child’s religious background Interests and aptitudes, providing appropriate enrichment activities Independent living skills Direct responsibility for managing a caseload of approximately 20-30 middle school scholars as assigned to the program: Prepare and conduct service plans and service plan reviews for each scholar attending a partner school. Coordinate meetings with scholars to monitor grades, behavior, and progress. Timely identification of needed interventions and procurement of needed resources for scholars (i.e. tutors, counselors, etc.) Regular written and oral communication and follow-up with teachers, parents, tutors, counselors, and mentors of assigned scholars. Assuring scholar participation in grade specific activities (i.e. college prep courses, NHQ Hope Ignites summer programs, etc.) Supervise the after-school program, summer program, and special activities of scholars along with other Hope Ignites personnel. Maintain scholars’ discipline and focus on tasks. Effectively address scholar behavior problems and discipline issues when necessary. Research and plan community service projects and local events. Track and document each scholar’s progress and achievements. Assist in incorporating the mentoring program in each scholar’s individual service plan. Transportation with 11-15 passenger van of scholars for weekly programing and additional activities Administrative and Data Management Maintain all required scholar and program files in a timely fashion and in accordance with Hope Ignites standards Assist with the collection and inputting of all data relevant to the Academy Program. Assist with analysis of data when necessary. Provide input to the Program Director in the development of the program’s operational and capital budget. Handle Critical Incidents and crisis situations in conjunction with Program Director
Qualifications
A Bachelors degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Guidance and Counseling, Human Services Administration, Sociology, Education, or a related human services field and/or two years’ experience in child welfare, educational or youth development program is required. Bilingual in English and Spanish required. The position requires the following competencies for success:

Pay: $48,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
