We are seeking a Plumbing Helper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for quality craftsmanship, assisting our plumbers with installing, repairing, and maintaining pool and spa plumbing systems.
Responsibilities:
- Assist plumbers in laying out, assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures for pool and spa plumbing systems.
- Cut, thread, and glue pipe using hand and power tools to fit specifications.
- Measure, mark, and align pipe runs following blueprints and plumbing diagrams.
- Dig trenches and prepare pipe beds as needed for underground plumbing runs.
- Fit and secure pipes, valves, and fittings, including PVC, copper, and other materials.
- Test plumbing systems for leaks and proper water flow, and assist with pressure testing.
- Load, unload, and transport plumbing materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
- Keep job sites clean and organized, and dispose of scrap materials properly.
- Remove and replace damaged or faulty pipes and fittings.
- Assist in the installation of pumps, filters, heaters, and other pool/spa equipment.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D).
- Valid California Driver's License and driving record meeting insurance qualifications.
Skills:
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Basic technical proficiency with plumbing tools and materials (PVC, copper, fittings, adhesives).
- Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of building and construction; English language proficiency required. Mathematics and customer service skills preferred.
- Familiarity with tools and equipment including pipe cutters, wrenches, levels, and power tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Flexibility to work in various environments, including high, precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, trenches, and exposure to chemicals and airborne particles.
