Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly and manage reservations using OpenTable or similar systems to ensure smooth seating flow.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clear communication with kitchen and bar staff.
- Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
- Upsell menu items including cocktails, wines, and specialty drinks to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
- Process cash and credit card transactions efficiently while handling cash safely and accurately.
- Maintain food safety standards by following sanitation protocols, food handling procedures, and proper serving techniques.
- Assist with bussing tables, cleaning workstations, and supporting kitchen staff during busy periods to ensure seamless service flow.
- Provide exceptional guest relations by addressing inquiries promptly and ensuring guests feel valued throughout their visit.
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for order entry and transaction processing.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic approach that creates welcoming atmospheres.
- Experience in food service roles including hosting/hostess duties, serving, bartending, or barista work within restaurant or food industry settings.
- Knowledge of beverage preparation including cocktails, spirits, wine knowledge, and beverage service techniques.
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts while maintaining attention to detail in order accuracy and cleanliness.
- Basic math skills for processing sales transactions accurately and handling cash responsibly.
- Familiarity with food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Culinary experience or kitchen background is a plus for supporting food prep or assisting during high-volume periods.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and engage positively with guests.
