The Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Iona University is seeking applications for a Hub Coordinator to support the operations of the newly created New Rochelle Economic and Small Business Development Hub (Economic Development Hub). The Hub Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Hub in downtown New Rochelle, NY (10 Church Street). This position will report to the Hub Manager.
The Economic and Small Business Development Hub is a partnership between the Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Iona University and the City of New Rochelle to support local entrepreneurs and small business owners, with dedicated programs aimed to support Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs) and retail based businesses. The programming will focus on 1:1 business counseling, workshops, networking opportunities and co working spaces
This position is funded for an initial one year term, with renewal anticipated annually for a minimum of three years.
Duties and Responsibilities
They will be responsible for client intake, booking 1:1 technical assistance sessions, managing workshop/webinar operations, execution of marketing & focused grassroots outreach strategies, referral services, and overseeing the physical space and student interns.
Working with the Hub Manager to oversee the day to day operations of the Economic and Small Business Development Hub.
Responsible for client intake, booking 1:1 technical assistance sessions, and record keeping sessions.
Support the referrals process, processes incoming and outgoing referrals.
Responsible for database management, specifically client intake and data entry.
Provide administrative, operational, and logistical support to the business advising team.
Provide marketing support for the Hub’s programming and services via social media channels and newsletter.
Associate’s degree (or higher)
2+ years of experience in administrative support, including record keeping.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Experience working with content creation software (e.g., Canva, Adobe InDesign), and community management/communication tools (e.g., MailChimp, social media).
