Unity Place of Monmouth County is seeking a licensed Behavioral Health Clinician to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to adults receiving treatment for mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders.

Unity Place of Monmouth County provides comprehensive behavioral health services for adults through our Partial Care , Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and Outpatient (OP) programs. Position Summary
As a Behavioral Health Clinician, you will manage a clinical caseload while providing assessments, treatment planning, individual counseling, group therapy, crisis intervention, and care coordination. This role works closely with psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, peer recovery specialists, and community partners to ensure high-quality, coordinated care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and clinical evaluations
- Develop individualized, measurable treatment plans based on client needs
- Provide individual and group therapy using evidence-based clinical practices
- Facilitate psychoeducational, process, relapse prevention, coping skills, and recovery-oriented groups
- Complete timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation within the electronic health record
- Monitor client progress and update treatment goals as clinically indicated
- Coordinate treatment with internal clinical staff and external referral sources
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings
- Provide crisis intervention and clinical support when necessary
- Educate clients and families on recovery, community resources, wellness, and relapse prevention
- Maintain professional, ethical, and regulatory standards in accordance with New Jersey licensing requirements
Minimum Qualifications Required
- Active New Jersey LSW or LAC license in good standing
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field
- Minimum one year of behavioral health experience
- Knowledge of mental health, substance use disorders, and integrated co-occurring treatment
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred
- Experience in PHP, Partial Care, IOP, or Outpatient behavioral health settings
- Experience facilitating psychotherapy groups
- Knowledge of ASAM Criteria and NJSAMS documentation
- Experience utilizing Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Training or experience in CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Care, or other evidence-based treatment modalities
