Hearing Instrument Assistant – Part-Time
Miracle-Ear – Elko, Nevada
Pay: $18 per hour
Schedule: Mondays and Fridays, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Miracle-Ear in Elko is looking for a dependable, friendly, and detail-oriented Hearing Instrument Assistant to join our team two days per week.
In this position, you will support our Hearing Instrument Specialist and Front Office Assistant while helping ensure our patients receive excellent care. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, learning hands-on technical skills, and keeping an office organized and running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Clean hearing aids and perform basic maintenance
- Troubleshoot minor hearing-aid problems and assist with repairs
- Help patients with hearing-aid cleaning, care, and basic questions
- Verify hearing-aid insurance benefits and document benefit information
- Contact insurance companies when additional information is needed
- Assist the Hearing Instrument Specialist throughout the workday
- Support the Front Office Assistant as needed
- Answer incoming calls and schedule appointments
- Greet patients and provide friendly, professional service
- Clean and organize patient areas, workspaces, and the office
- Track hearing aids and repairs coming into and leaving the office
- Complete other administrative and office-support tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Friendly, patient, and comfortable working with older adults
- Dependable and able to consistently work Mondays and Fridays
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Comfortable learning basic technical and troubleshooting skills
- Professional communication and customer-service skills
- Able to maintain patient confidentiality
- Comfortable contacting insurance companies and reviewing benefit information
- Basic computer and telephone skills
- Previous healthcare, insurance-verification, customer-service, office, or technical experience is helpful but not required
Training will be provided. The right candidate will be dependable, willing to learn, and committed to treating every patient with kindness and respect.
