Overview
We are seeking an individual with a passion for coffee and hospitality, and with experience in food and beverage preparation to join our team at Nino's Bakery in downtown DC to train and design our drink menu, as well as growth opportunities to become our coffee bar manager.
Barista Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety beverages
- Manage customer orders
- Maintain friendly customer service
- Follow food safety protocols and handle food preparation tasks to ServSafe standards
- Maintain cleanliness of bar area, including cleaning equipment and workstations
- Ensure accurate cash handling and register operations using POS systems
- Support team members to ensure smooth and consistent operations
- Ability to operate dishwasher and clean coffee mugs and coffee machines
- Basic cleaning tasks of kitchen and customer areas, and taking out daily trash and recycling
Requirements
- An interest and prior experience with specialty coffee and hospitality
- Availability to work 4-6 days a week
- ServSafe Manager Certification (or responsible for getting within 4 weeks)
- As lead barista, shown ability to dial espresso machines and ensure basic maintenance of manual espresso machines
- Can do latte art
