The Director of AI Strategy & Enablement leads the development and execution of the company's enterprise AI strategy, governance framework, and adoption initiatives. Serving as a bridge between business and technology, this role ensures AI investments are aligned with organizational goals, governed appropriately, and deliver measurable business outcomes. The Director is responsible for establishing AI policies and standards, guiding responsible AI practices, identifying and prioritizing business use cases, driving enterprise adoption, and overseeing the realization of value from AI-enabled solutions across the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
AI Strategy & Roadmap
Develops and maintains the enterprise AI strategy aligned with business objectives and corporate priorities.
Establishes a multi-year AI roadmap that identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiency, project delivery, workforce productivity, safety, and business performance.
Partners with executive leadership to prioritize AI investments and initiatives based on strategic value and risk.
Monitors emerging AI technologies, trends, and regulations and assess their applicability to the business.
AI Governance & Responsible AI
Develops and maintains AI governance policies, standards, and operating procedures.
Establishes processes for evaluating, approving, monitoring, and managing AI solutions and use cases.
Leads the AI Governance Council and facilitates cross-functional decision-making.
Ensures AI initiatives align with legal, compliance, privacy, cybersecurity, and data governance requirements.
Develops frameworks for responsible AI, including transparency, accountability, human oversight, bias mitigation, and risk management.
Data Governance Alignment
Partners with data owners and data stewards to improve data quality, ownership, accessibility, and reliability.
Ensures AI initiatives are supported by trusted and governed enterprise data.
Aligns AI governance practices with enterprise data governance standards.
Enterprise AI Adoption & Enablement
Develops adoption strategies for tools such as Microsoft Copilot and other approved AI platforms.
Identifies barriers to adoption and implement change management strategies to address them.
Partners with business leaders to identify, prioritize, and advance AI use cases.
Establishes metrics to measure AI adoption, engagement, and business outcomes.
AI Use Case Portfolio Management
Maintains a prioritized pipeline of AI opportunities.
Evaluates business cases and expected value.
Coordinates project delivery across business units.
AI Literacy & Workforce Development
Develops and executes AI education and awareness programs for employees at all levels.
Creates role-based AI learning paths for executives, managers, and individual contributors.
Fosters a culture of responsible experimentation and innovation.
Establishes an AI Champions network to promote adoption and knowledge sharing across departments.
Executive Communication
Advises executive leadership on emerging AI trends, risks, and opportunities.
Develops executive briefings and board-level updates.
Leads AI strategy workshops and planning sessions.
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Strong understanding of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and modern AI capabilities and limitations.
Familiarity with prompt engineering concepts and best practices.
Advanced knowledge of construction operations, including scheduling, estimating, project management and safety workflows and protocols.
Basic knowledge of construction data schemas and common industry platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit, CMiC, Box, Oracle P6 and Workday is preferred.
Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Working knowledge of business intelligence and analytics platforms.
Working knowledge of change management and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical field staff.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience managing complex projects in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry, including three years as a Project Engineer or equivalent.
Minimum of three years of experience supporting digital transformation, VDC, or the deployment of technology initiatives in the field.
Experience on sustainable and/or design-build projects is preferred.
AI related certifications (Microsoft AI-900, Google, AI Essentials, etc) a plus.
BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

Demonstrates the capacity to articulate thoughts clearly and concisely, specifically when translating complex technical jargon for field audiences.

Demonstrates an advanced level of customer focus and a remarkable ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders from trade to Executive Leadership.
Strategic level decision quality and use of sound judgement when handling sensitive project data.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to sit for long periods of time at a desk, generally up to 7 hours per day and regularly working on-site at the construction work site. Repetitive motion using hands with constant keyboarding and physical use of vision to read computer monitors including close vision for coding and data analysis. Regularly required to use hands to operate standard office equipment (personal computer, photocopy machine, etc.). Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, and lift up to 15 pounds. The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee regularly works at the construction work site to validate technology implementation, deliver on-site training and demonstrations where the employee will be required to climb permanent and temporary stairs and is exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The noise on the construction work site is usually moderate to very loud.

Range of base pay is $193,000-$220,000. Actual pay is based on individual skill level and experience.
