Position Summary
MSP is seeking an experienced CNC Mill Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC milling machines to produce high-quality components to print specifications. The ideal candidate has experience machining complex parts, understands GD&T, and is committed to producing precision work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up and operate 5-axis CNC milling machines.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Load tooling, fixtures, and raw materials.
- Verify machine programs and make offsets as required.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
- Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot machining issues.
- Maintain dimensional tolerances and surface finish requirements.
- Complete production documentation accurately.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean work area.
- Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of CNC milling experience.
- Experience setting up and operating 5-axis CNC machining centers.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, speeds, and feeds.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace, medical device, defense, or high-precision manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of AS9100 quality standards preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
- Must be able to safely operate manufacturing equipment and wear required PPE.
