Responsibilities
- Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately during retail sales transactions
- Handle cash, credit card, and digital payments with precision, maintaining a balanced cash drawer at all times
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product demos when needed
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities
- Stock shelves, organize displays, and assist with merchandising to ensure the store remains inviting and well-organized
- Maintain phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Support inventory management through stocking and inventory checks, ensuring product availability for customers
Experience
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations essential
- Demonstrated customer service skills with strong communication abilities
- Experience supervising or leading team members is a plus but not required
- Knowledge of retail math for handling transactions accurately and balancing cash drawers confidently
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs
- Prior experience with retail sales, upselling techniques, merchandising, and product demos is advantageous
