SENIOR STRUCTURAL PROJECT ENGINEER

Seeking a Senior Structural Project Engineer with 5–8 years of building-design experience.
The successful candidate will contribute to the analysis and design of complex building structures, coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, and support projects through design and construction.
This is a structural building-design position—not a construction project manager, superintendent or field-engineering role.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5–8 years of structural building-design experience
- Experience designing structures using a variety of structural materials
- Experience with multiple building types and market sectors
- Strong experience designing larger steel and reinforced-concrete structures
- Ability to perform structural analysis and prepare calculations, drawings and specifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Currently located in the United States
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Structural Engineer (SE) license
- Master’s degree in structural engineering from a U.S. university
- Experience with DSA-regulated projects
- Experience with HCAI/OSHPD-regulated healthcare projects
- Experience with seismic evaluation and retrofit of existing buildings using ASCE 41
- Experience coordinating with architects, contractors and other engineering disciplines
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform structural analysis and design for building projects
- Design steel, reinforced-concrete and other structural building systems
- Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings and specifications
- Coordinate structural designs with architects and multidisciplinary consultants
- Assist with project planning, scheduling and technical coordination
- Review shop drawings and contractor submittals
- Respond to RFIs and provide construction-administration support
- Participate in site observations and help resolve construction-related issues
- Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes and engineering standards
- Communicate technical information clearly to clients and project-team members
- Support and collaborate with other engineers and design professionals
COMPENSATION
The anticipated base salary range is $105,000–$120,000 annually. The final salary will depend on the selected candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity and geographic location. The hiring company may offer additional benefits and compensation.

Applicants must have structural building-design experience. Candidates whose backgrounds are primarily in construction management, scheduling, procurement, superintendent work or general contracting without structural-design responsibilities will not meet the minimum qualifications.
