## Position Summary
Novastar Kids Co. is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Spanish Substitute Teacher to provide ongoing Spanish language classroom coverage on Mondays and Thursdays, approximately 6 hours per day.
The ideal candidate is passionate about language learning, enjoys working with children, and can create a positive and engaging classroom environment. The Substitute Teacher will follow established lesson plans and curriculum while providing continuity in Spanish instruction.
## Essential Responsibilities

Provide Spanish language instruction according to lesson plans and curriculum provided by the regular teacher.
- Support students in developing Spanish speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
- Reinforce Spanish vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and cultural understanding.
- Create an engaging, supportive, and age-appropriate learning environment.
- Encourage students to participate actively and confidently in Spanish.
- Maintain positive classroom management and student engagement.
- Take attendance and maintain classroom records as required.
- Support individual student learning needs and accommodations as directed by school staff.
- Supervise students and follow all school safety and emergency procedures.
- Communicate relevant student or classroom concerns to school administration.
- Assist with transitions, lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, and other supervision duties as assigned.
- Maintain classroom organization and prepare the classroom for the regular teacher's return.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and school matters.
- Follow all Novastar Kids Co. policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
## Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree in education, Spanish, world languages, or a related field preferred.
- Strong Spanish language proficiency or fluency preferred.
- Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Dependable, punctual, professional, and flexible.
- Ability to follow lesson plans and adapt to the needs of students.
- Ability to maintain student confidentiality.
- Commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
- Ability to successfully complete required background checks and meet applicable school employment requirements.
