Job Overview
We are seeking a qualified 06 Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic electrical team. This position involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of electrical systems across various Manufacturing and some Commercial sites . The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of electrical codes, schematics, and safety procedures, ensuring all work complies with industry standards such as NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) and NEC (National Electrical Code). This role offers an opportunity to work on complex electrical projects, including high-voltage wiring, industrial systems, and renovation projects, contributing to safe and efficient electrical operations. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong diagnostic skills, proficiency with hand tools and power tools, and the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics accurately.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential and commercial environments, ensuring adherence to local electrical codes and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters; identify root causes efficiently.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to execute precise wiring layouts.
- Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely on industrial equipment and infrastructure.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or failures; implement corrective actions promptly.
- Collaborate with construction teams during renovation or new build projects to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including schematics modifications and compliance reports.
- Follow all electrical safety procedures rigorously to prevent accidents or injuries on-site.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment effectively to complete installation and repair tasks.
- Assist in training or mentoring apprentices or less experienced electricians when required.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in residential electrical work.
- Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and local electrical codes.
- Skilled in troubleshooting electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and circuit testers.
- Proficient reading electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Experience working with industrial electrical systems, including high-voltage wiring and low-voltage control circuits.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation tasks.
- Ability to perform wiring safely in residentialenvironments; understanding of NFPA 70E safety standards.
- Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized testing equipment efficiently.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures and compliance requirements.
- Construction site experience with renovation projects or new installations; capable of adapting to diverse environments.
- Basic frame carpentry or handyman skills are advantageous for supporting miscellaneous tasks during projects.
