Job Summary
The Title Examiner researches, analyzes, and reviews property title records to identify liens, judgments, ownership discrepancies, easements, encumbrances, and other title-related issues and prepares preliminary title reports based on the examination and research preformed. This role supports real estate transactions by ensuring title documentation meets legal, regulatory, and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review title reports, deeds, mortgages, tax records, and other legal documents.
- Verify ownership history and chain of title.
- Identify title defects, liens, judgments, easements, restrictions, and encumbrances.
- Analyze legal descriptions for accuracy.
- Resolve title discrepancies by coordinating with title officers, attorneys, lenders, and government agencies.
- Prepare title commitments, title summaries, and review reports.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and company guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in company systems.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to internal and external clients.
· Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience in title insurance, real estate, escrow, mortgage, or related field.
- Knowledge of title examination practices, property law, and land records.
- Ability to interpret legal and financial documents.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency with computer applications and production software.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of title insurance underwriting guidelines.
- Familiarity with county recording systems and public records research.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
