Accounting Specialist - Wholesale Distribution
Location: 1120 Hackney St., Houston, TX 77023
Pay: $50,000 - $70,000 annual salary (Based on Experience)
Job Type: Full-Time | 6AM - 3PM or 7AM - 4PM, Monday – Friday

Responsibilities - What you'll do
This is a hands-on accounting position responsible for both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
Accounts Receivable
- Generate and distribute customer invoices
- Apply customer payments accurately
- Monitor customer aging reports
- Follow up on past-due accounts professionally
- Resolve customer billing discrepancies
- Assist with credit applications and account setup
- Maintain accurate customer account records
Accounts Payable
- Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
- Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents
- Research invoice discrepancies
- Prepare weekly vendor payment runs
- Maintain positive vendor relationships
- Monitor vendor statements and resolve outstanding issues
General Accounting
- Bank reconciliations
- Assist with month-end close
- Prepare reports for management
- Maintain accounting records and documentation
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives
- Work closely with Sales, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Management
Requirements - What We're Looking For
Required
- 3+ years of Accounts Receivable and/or Accounts Payable experience
- High school diploma required
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Professional communication skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
- Ability to pass a background check
- Authorized to work in the United States
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred
- QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise experience
- Wholesale distribution or manufacturing experience
- Experience with month-end close
- Customer collections experience
- Vendor management experience
