DRILLER HELPEREntry-Level Position | Geotechnical Drilling

We are looking for a dependable and motivated Driller Helper to join our geotechnical drilling team in the Miami area. This is an entry-level position with opportunities to learn and advance within the company.
The Driller Helper works alongside an experienced Driller to support geotechnical drilling operations at construction and investigation sites. Our crews perform soil borings and other field investigations used by engineers to evaluate ground conditions for buildings, roads, bridges, and other construction projects.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, is mechanically inclined, works well as part of a team, and is willing to learn. Previous drilling experience is helpful but not required—we are willing to train the right candidate.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Driller with daily geotechnical drilling operations.
- Help mobilize, position, and set up drilling rigs and equipment at job sites.
- Assist with operating drilling-related equipment under the direction of the Driller.
- Handle, connect, and disconnect drill rods, casing, tooling, and other drilling components.
- Assist with collecting and properly identifying soil and rock samples.
- Help measure and establish boring locations in the field.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload drilling equipment, tools, and materials.
- Operate pumps and auxiliary equipment used during drilling operations.
- Assist with mud pits, drainage systems, and general site preparation.
- Help with well development, pumping tests, and other field testing activities as required.
- Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, inspection, and basic maintenance of drilling equipment.
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment and drilling problems.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Perform general yard and equipment maintenance as directed by management.
- Travel to multiple job sites as required.
- Follow all company safety procedures and instructions.
- Perform other duties related to drilling operations as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Previous construction, drilling, heavy equipment, or mechanical experience is a plus, but training will be provided.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred/not required.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with hand and power tools.
- Ability to work outdoors in South Florida weather conditions, including heat and humidity.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
- Must be capable of safely lifting and handling materials weighing up to approximately 80 pounds.
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a crew.
- Class A or Class B CDL is a plus.
- Must pass company-required background screening and drug testing.
- Must maintain a driving record that meets company requirements.
- Local candidates preferred. Relocation assistance is not available.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a full-time, field-based position. Work is primarily performed outdoors at construction and investigation sites throughout the South Florida area.
The position involves physical labor, working around heavy equipment, handling drilling materials, and working in varying weather and ground conditions. Safety is a fundamental part of everything we do, and all employees are expected to follow established safety procedures at all times.
