Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare professionals
- Support medication administration in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal consumption, ensuring dietary needs are met for individuals with specific health conditions like dementia or neurodevelopmental disorders
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing regular cleaning tasks and adhering to infection control protocols
- Support residents’ emotional well-being through compassionate communication, engaging activities, and personalized care strategies
- Assist with transportation to medical appointments or community outings using appropriate equipment and safety procedures
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and caring for individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely while supporting resident transfers using Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and documentation of care plans and resident progress
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare teams
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations with compassion while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
